Magneto Maze Mayhem (Android, package com.filipsworkshop.magneto)
Last updated: 9 October 2026

Magneto Maze Mayhem ("the game") is made by Filip Stefanko, publishing as Filip's Workshop ("we", "us"). This policy explains what information the game collects, why, who it is shared with, and the choices you have. Questions or requests: filipstefanko@gmail.com.

The short version

1. Information the game collects

Game ID and player name

On first launch the game creates a random device ID. It is not linked to your real identity, phone number or Google account. You also get a player name made of two words and a number (for example "Turbo Gizmo 42"), chosen from fixed lists, with no free typing.

Leaderboards

When you finish the Daily Maze or earn points in the Weekly Race, the game sends your player name, device ID, time or points, stars, ball skin and workshop upgrade levels to our server. Other players can see your player name, result, skin and upgrades on the boards. They cannot see your device ID.

Cloud save

Your game progress (levels, stars, bolts, upgrades, settings) is backed up to our server under an 8-letter save code shown in Settings, so you can restore it on another device. Anyone who knows your save code can load a copy of that progress, so keep it to yourself.

Google Play Games (optional)

If you sign in to Google Play Games, the game reads your Play Games player ID, turns it into a one-way hash on your phone, and stores only that hash next to your save code. This lets the game find your save after a fresh install. Your Google account name, email and contacts are not collected. Google's own handling of Play Games is described in the Google Privacy Policy.

Gameplay statistics

To find out which levels are too hard or too easy, the game sends small events such as "session started", "level started", "level won", "life lost", "tutorial finished", "mission completed" and "gift claimed", together with the device ID, level number, game mode, game version and platform. These contain no personal details.

Advertising

The game shows optional rewarded video ads (you choose to watch one for a reward) from Google AdMob. To show and measure ads, AdMob may collect your device's advertising ID, IP address, approximate location derived from it, device and app information, and how you interact with ads. In the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland you are asked for consent before personalised ads are shown, and you can change that choice later in the game's settings. You can also reset or delete your advertising ID in your phone's settings (Settings > Google > Ads / Privacy > Ads). See How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.

Things the game does not collect

No name, email address, phone number, contacts, photos, precise location, microphone or camera access. The "share" button only opens your phone's own share sheet with a screenshot of the game; nothing is sent to us. Reminder notifications are created on your phone and are not sent through a server.

2. Why we use it

For players in the EU/EEA and UK, the legal bases are: performing the service you asked for (leaderboards, cloud save, Play Games restore), our legitimate interest in improving and securing the game (statistics), and your consent where required (personalised ads).

3. Who we share it with

We do not sell or rent information to anyone. Data sent by the game is encrypted in transit (HTTPS).

4. How long we keep it

5. Your choices and rights

If you live in the EU/EEA or UK you can also complain to your local data protection authority.

6. Children

The game is intended for players aged 13 and over and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has used the game's online features, contact us and we will delete the related data.

7. Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date.
